As you probably know, a solar eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8th, 2024. Students and staff at Illini Central Schools will remain indoors during this time, as will all recesses and PE classes. Classroom teachers may choose to watch the live eclipse broadcast online, but out of caution, we will not allow students to go outside to watch it directly. By the time school is dismissed at 3:00 pm, we will be past the eclipse's peak, and we will encourage students to avoid looking directly into the sun as they leave for the day.
If a guardian wants to pick up their child early from school to watch the eclipse, please contact the office and follow attendance procedures.

The 8th-grade Commitment to Graduation ceremony will be on Friday, May 24th at 6:30.

Tomorrow, Friday, March 22nd, is our Middle School PBIS incentive trip to SkyZone. Students who are passing all classes and have no referrals or received a "turnaround award" get to attend. Those students who did not qualify will stay back at school for a "work day." A SkyZone waiver must be completed for your student to attend. If it is not completed, then they will stay at school in the workroom. Students who did not qualify were notified and messages were sent to parents on Rooms. Students need to bring a lunch and can bring money to purchase concessions at SkyZone. Contact Annie Baugher with any questions or concerns.

Because Illini Central participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and/or School Breakfast Program (SBP), we must establish a Local School Wellness Policy
Local Wellness Policies are valuable tools in promoting student health and wellness. Schools play an essential role in preparing students for successful futures, and proper nutrition and physical activity are key to creating constructive learning environments. Local Wellness Policies support the school's efforts to provide students with a successful and healthy future. As we look to update Illini Central's Wellness Policy, please contact Jennifer Durbin (jdurbin@illinicentral.org).

Tomorrow morning Thursday March 21st, Mr. Burks' 8th grade students will be presenting the annual Wax Museum in the ICHS gymnasium.
The museum is open to the public from 8:30 until 10:00 a.m.
Come to the school & check out all of our 8th graders' hard work!
