Today during our teacher in-service, the staff toured the district boundaries and experienced what some of our students do on a daily basis. Along the way, the tour guides quizzed the staff on Illini Central themed trivia!
Did you know 52 staff members attended Illini Central or one of the feeder schools prior to consolidation? Do you know the mascots of all of the schools prior to consolidation? It was a fun way to spend time together as a staff learning about IC! We can't wait to have students in the halls tomorrow! #WeAreIC

Seniors and Senior Parents/Guardians, Chalk Your Parking Spot!
Come have fun with your friends and show your ICHS pride by chalking your personal blacktop canvas on August 11th, 12th, and/or 13th, any time between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. You must be eligible to purchase a parking spot (required paperwork) and pay the yearly parking fee of $25. You must turn in the art approval form before you begin decorating your space. You can turn your art approval form in when you purchase your parking pass and choose your assigned parking spot. Parking spots will be available to purchase for Seniors on Monday, August 4th. You must bring a valid driver’s license, registration, proof of insurance, and pay $25. Art approval forms must be turned in by Thursday, August 7th, by 3:00.
This is for Senior students only.
No Senior parking spot may be decorated until artwork is approved by Mrs. Baugher.
Approved forms will be available for pick up in the front office from 8:00-3:00 on the decorating days.
Design forms are at the main office and on the high school website under the “for students” tab. All design forms must be turned in to Mrs. Baugher by Thursday, August 7th, by 3:00, and approved before you can begin decorating. All designs must fall under ICHS rules and regulations.
You will purchase all of your supplies. Below is a list of materials and suggestions.
Guidelines for your sketch: Think of your parking spot as a t-shirt that you want to wear to school. Your spot must be within the ICHS student code of conduct and rules. No references to drugs, alcohol, smoking, gangs, or inappropriate behavior, etc. Keep it Classy! You can use your name, include your jersey number, instrument you play, reflect your favorite teams, show school spirit, or your favorite hobbies. Your spot should be fun and reflect who you are as a person.
Materials Needed and Suggestions:
**You are responsible for the cost and for providing all the supplies needed to chalk your spot. **
Broom/Leafblower: To sweep off your spot and start with a clean space.
Masking/Painters Tape: You can use this to mark out your spot before you start chalking your spot.
Hula Hoop: A hula hoop is a great tool to use if you are having any sort of larger circle incorporated into your design.
Trash Bags: You are responsible for keeping our school property clean. Please do not litter. We would like to keep this as a tradition for classes to come. Do not ruin it for everyone else by not being responsible for your mess.
Towel: It's not too comfortable sitting on the ground for long periods of time, so bring a towel to sit on.
Sidewalk Chalk: There are many varieties of sidewalk chalk that you can use, including spray paint sidewalk chalk and sidewalk chalk paint.
Paint Brushes/Paint Rollers: If you are using sidewalk chalk paint, you will need brushes and rollers.

We are always working to improve and simplify communication between you and Illini Central Schools. Keeping up with your child’s coursework and their teachers directly impacts their well-being both in the classroom and at home. School communication plays a big part in all of this, but it’s often not set up to be as accessible as it could be.
That’s what we’re working to solve. This year, we’ve made some changes to our website, app, and Rooms based on feedback from parents and staff. Rooms enables you to have two-way parent-teacher conversations and stay informed about classroom announcements. Rooms has streamlined communication and can now be sent directly to your phone via SMS.
Our district app currently offers: Live feed updates District and school news Upcoming events Breakfast and lunch menus Push notifications for important and urgent announcements
With Rooms, you’ll have access to even more exciting features like: Two-way messaging with teachers, staff, and coaches Classroom announcements, reminders about coursework, and materials Behavior tracking for celebrating good behavior and academic achievement Automatic translation
So what does all of this mean for you? This means that you don’t need another app or tool to keep up with your child’s teachers and coursework. You’ll be able to find the vast majority of school and district information in one place: within our Illini Central app. If you don’t already have it, the district app is free, and you can search for it in the Play Store and App Store!
After you’ve created your login, you can access Rooms through the Illini Central app (or the www.illinicentral.org website). Once you’re there, you’ll see a toggle at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Just touch Rooms to get started. If you have multiple children attending our district, you’ll see them both listed in the menu section of Rooms.
Illini Central’s PreK-12th grade open house will take place on August 13th from 6:00-7:00 pm Stop in to meet your teacher and drop off your school supplies!
