Illini Central Announces September Student of the Month
Alliance Community Bank of Mason City and Illini Central High School are pleased to present Madelyn McKinney with the September Student of the Month Award. For demonstrating outstanding character, Madelyn receives an Amazon gift card from Alliance Community Bank and an Amazon gift card from the Illini Central High School faculty.
Madelyn is the daughter of Michael and Michele McKinney. Her classes this year include Dual Credit Communications, Dual Credit Medical Terminology, Dual Credit English, Advanced Chemistry II, AP Calculus, Fitness PE, Resource Management, Physics, and Advanced Spanish IV.
Madelyn keeps busy as Mu Alpha Theta President, National Honor Society Secretary, Student Council Secretary, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica Secretary, and Peaceful Valley 4-H Vice President. Madelyn is also involved in the Spanish Club and FFA.
Following graduation, Madelyn plans to attend an out-of-state, four-year university to become a pediatric physical therapist or speech and language pathologist.

Illini Central is hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 8th, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in the Illini Central High School gym. This assembly is open to all veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Lunch will be provided for all veterans attending. We hope to see you there! Illini Central Schools will dismiss at 2:00 p.m. for parent-teacher conferences on Wed, 10/9, and Thurs, 10/10. There will be no school on Friday, 10/11. Pre-K will have early dismissal at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, but no classes on Thurs. or Fri. Pre-K conferences will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on 10/10.
To sign up for Pre-K or grade school conferences, contact the office at 217-482-5180. Parents of middle and high school students can sign up for conferences through Skyward. On the home screen, there is a tab for“conferences.”
Conferences are an important time for teachers to connect with families, so please sign up for a time to meet with your child's teacher.
Homecoming tickets are for sale Today and Friday during lunch the price is $5 a ticket.
Students can also pay at the door on Saturday.
The homecoming dance will start at 7 pm on Saturday and doors will open at 6:45. We will have coronation at 7:30 and the family is welcome to come and watch for that.
The dance will conclude at 10 pm.

Illini Central Fall Picture Days are coming up soon.
ICGS photos will be taken on Wednesday, October 2.
ICMS/ICHS photos will be taken on Thursday, October 17.

Illini Central is going to Washington D.C. and New York City!

Tomorrow, September 25th, Illini Central Schools will dismiss at 11:30 a.m. The PreK will have their morning activity from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. that is open to all students in morning and afternoon classes; however, transportation is not provided. Tomorrow, September 19th, Juniors and Seniors will be attending a fair at the Workforce Center at LLCC. Lunch will be provided for them. We look forward to them experiencing this opportunity to explore post- graduation options. If you have any questions, please reach out to the counselors.
Attention Middle School and High School Parents/Guardians:
Parent-Teacher Conferences are on Wednesday, October 9th and Thursday, October 10th from 4:00-8:00. Conference sign-ups are now available in Skyward.

Illini Central & the Mason County Health Department will be having a School Flu Shot Clinic on Thursday, October 3rd.
The consent & parent registration forms can be found at the links below. These documents are also available at the grade school front desk & outside of the high/middle school office.
These forms need to be returned to the school by September 26th.
In addition to the Flu Shot Clinic, the Health Department will also have available school-required vaccines for all grade levels. This is a great opportunity to get everything done at the same time.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to celebrate Patriot's Day tomorrow, Sept. 11th. School will dismiss at 2:00 p.m. for teacher professional development. Morning PreK will run normally scheduled hours, but afternoon PreK will dismiss one hour early.
