
Just a quick reminder about our post from last week...today, families who have chosen full remote learning for the 1st semester and need a school Chromebook OR have requested a hot spot may pick them up in front of the high school from 8 to 12 & from 1 to 5:30.
We are only prepared to provide these devices for the families that have signed up prior to this morning.

This morning, Illini Central Superintendent Mr. Mike Ward & IC School Nurse Mrs. Tonya Harris sat down to discuss some of the main challenges we are preparing for as we begin in-person learning next week.

Included in this post is a form to make sure all students needing meals during our blended learning phase OR in case of school closure (going full remote) get those meals.
This will make sure our food service staff is getting enough food ordered and will be prepared to meet those needs in either case.
Of course families can call in to the school if they change their minds or opt out.
For instance, the ICGS teachers will hand out meals only to those signed up, so it’s important to be on this list to prevent bus delays etc.

Yesterday, Illini Central Director of Building & Grounds Mr. Strauman explained the steps he & his staff will be taking this school year to ensure that our buildings are sanitized on a daily basis.
The Illini Central custodial staff has done their usual amazing job of preparing our building for the upcoming school year...while at the same time getting ready for the new challenges of the 2020-2021 school year.

Good morning! We sent out paper copies of student schedule on Friday, so watch your mailbox! Schedules are also available on Skyward. All schedule change requests should be emailed to schedulechange@illinicentral.org. We are working to limit class sizes to maintain social distancing, so requests are not guaranteed. SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED AFTER AUGUST 24TH.
We shared the Commitment to Graduation ceremony video last week, and we will not be able to hold in-person orientations or open house, so watch the website and facebook for information regarding these events happening digitally.
We are excited to start another school, as unique as it will be!


Just a reminder that Illini Central In Person Registration begins this afternoon at 2 p.m. & lasts until 7 p.m. this evening.
ICGS registration will take place in the front of the grade school office.
ICHS/ICMS registration will take place in the ICHS office.
Any new students should come to the ICHS portion of the building.

Earlier this month, we announced our intent to release a reopening plan on or about July 24.
Today we are releasing our reopening plan for the fall. We look forward to seeing our students back on campus soon. We feel that we have created a plan that will allow our students and staff to return to school safely.
We know that the plan and video have a lot of information for you to digest. We realize that you may still have questions. We suggest that you email your questions to illinicentral@illinicentral.org
In the days ahead, we will release more information and videos to further explain the plan and to address any questions that you may have.
Please keep in mind that this plan is based on guidelines from the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the governor's office. Our plans may be altered based on the advice and directives of these agencies.

Illini Central CUSD#189 is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the 2020-2021 school year.
The CNA will assist the district's nurse in the administration of the Health Services as described in the Illini Central Board Policy Manual: the Illinois State Board of Education guidelines: and the rules and regulations of the Illinois Department of Public Health.
Anticipate work hours will follow the school day (approximately 35 hours per week).
Candidates must possess at least a valid certified nursing assistant license.

The regular meeting of the Illini Central CUSD #189 Board of Education will be held in person this month.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held in the grade school library.
The meeting will be limited to 50 in-person attendees.
The Board and school personnel will account for at least 12 attendees. The district will broadcast the meeting through the Illini Central Sports Network.
