ILLINI CENTRAL CUSD189 PUBLIC HEARING
Illini Central CUSD189 will hold a special Board of Education meeting prior to its regular monthly meeting to hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 16, 2025, for the purpose of receiving testimony on the District’s proposed application for waiver of state board rules and/or school code mandates. The hearing will be convened at 6:30 p.m. in the Illini Central Professional Development Room. The regular meeting will follow the hearing.
Specifically, the district wishes to submit a waiver of section 17-1.5 of the School Code, which limits administrative costs to a maximum of 105% of the previous fiscal year’s expenditure. For Fiscal Year 2026, the district proposes a 12% increase over the FY2025 budget. This expenditure increase is due to the rise in healthcare coverage from fiscal year 2025 to fiscal year 2026.

Veterans Day Assembly
Illini Central is hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday, November 10th, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Illini Central High School gym. This assembly is open to all veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Lunch will be provided for all veterans attending. We hope to see you there!
Additionally, we want to honor all of our Veterans! We are creating a display of family members from the Illini Central School District who have served our country. If you have a family member who is currently serving or has served, please complete the following form.

Illini Central Schools will dismiss at 11:30 on Wednesday, September 24th. Students in the Grade School will have a "Cougar Gear Spirit Day," so wear black and gold for IC!
All Pre-K students, morning and afternoon, will be having "Donuts with Grown-ups" from 8-10:30 am, and transportation for Pre-K will not be provided.

High School Junior and Senior parents, we have two field trips next week. Juniors will be heading to ISU next Tuesday for the day. Lunch will be provided. Seniors will be attending the Midwest Central Career Fair on Wednesday during the school day, and will be back in time for lunch. For any questions, feel free to reach out to the counselors.

The Illini Central High School PBIS is hosting an Online Silent Auction for a Premier Parking Spot located in the middle school/high school parking lot. Funds raised from the Online Silent Auction will go towards incentive prizes and field trips for our high school students.
The highest bidder will win a reserved, front-row parking spot with their own personalized sign, located outside the Cougar Den (middle school/high school entrance). This parking spot will be the winning bidder's designated parking spot for all Illini Central events for the 2025-2026 school year.
