A couple of more IC Sports items for tonight: Since we will be broadcasting the JV & Varsity boys' games tonight...we will also broadcast our 8th Grade Basketball players & Cheerleaders being honored on 8th Grade Night. Tonight's JH Boys Basketball game has been canceled. Since this was supposed to be 8th grade night, we will still honor those cheerleaders and basketball players. We will now be honoring our 8th grade athletes in Mason City in between the JV and Varsity boys basketball game. That ceremony will begin around 7:00 (approximately), but athletes should arrive by 6:30. Just a reminder that the ICMS Volleyball matches scheduled for tonight have been postponed due health & safety protocols with Springfield Blessed Sacrament. Tonight’s events include the following: We honor our 8th grade boys’ basketball players tonight as the Cougars play host to the Lewistown Indians in Easton. Tip for the 7th grade game is scheduled for 6 p.m. The Lady Cougars play a non-conference game on the road v. the Lady Wildcats of North Fulton. Tip time is 6 p.m. in Cuba. The Riverton Hawks will be heading to Mason City for their games v. the Cougars. Good morning, Illini Central Cougar fans! We have three events on the schedule for today: The ICMS volleyball teams head to Greenview for their matches with the Lady Bulldogs. There has been a time change for these matches. The 7th grade match will begin at 4 p.m. The ICMS Boys’ Basketball teams will be heading to Pleasant Plains for their games with the Cardinals. Tip of the 7th grade game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Illini Central makes up the cancelled game from Friday as the Trojans from Maroa-Forsyth travel to Mason City. The IDPH and ISBE have released new guidelines for returning to school for students and staff who have had COVID or were deemed close contacts. Go to the "News" section of the website for further details.

Any basketball fans planning to head to Clinton on Saturday will need to purchase an online ticket before heading over. Only one ticket needs to be purchased to watch both the girls and boys play. On December 31, we we notified by the Illinois State Board of Education that the new CDC/IDPH 5-day COVID guidelines do not apply to school districts. These are guidelines for the general public onlly. As a result, there are no changes to the number of days that a person with COVID or a close contact to a positive COVID individual will be excluded from school.

This morning, the IC Cougars basketball team finished the Williamsville Holiday Tournament with a win vs. the Rockets from Roanoke Benson, 45-44. The Cougars will be off until the New Year when they travel to Midwest Central on Tuesday, January 4th. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy
