Reminder that there will be a sports and activities informational meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 in the HS Gym. Any athlete planning to participate in a sport or activity should plan to attend along with a parent/guardian. If you are unable to attend, the powerpoint will be posted to the school's website next week. There will also be paperwork available at this meeting that wiil need to be filled out and returned. We will be having our sports information meeting on Thursday, August 10 at 6:30 PM in the HS Gym. In the past we have done this for every season, but we didn't have much attendance after the fall meeting. Any student planning to participate in sports this year, and a parent/guardian should plan to attend the meeting on Thursday, August 10. We will share the slideshow on the website after the meeting for those that cannot make it. At the meeting, we will have the paperwork available that will need to be filled out by athletes and a parent. We do realize that there is a MS Baseball and MS Softball game that night. Coaches will be given the paperwork for those that are unable to attend. Each coach will be sharing additional information for their sport, but this meeting will provide general information. ICMS Softball announcement: Due to a low number of girls in grades 6-8 trying out for the team, we have decided to allow 5th graders the opportunity to try out as well. Any girl entering 5th grade that would like to tryout should attend practice tomorrow from 9-10:30 at the softball field. Remember that this is a junior high team that will be competing against mostly 7th-8th grade girls. Anyone interested will need a sports physical and will be required to pay the activity fee. On Thursday, August 3rd...the Mason County Health Department will be offering vaccines from 2 to 3 p.m. on a walk in basis. Mason District is offering free Sports Physicals from 2 to 4 p.m. on a walk in basis as well. It is important to note that grades 6 and 9 need full physicals to meet state requirements. Both services will take place in the HS gym, we will be utilizing the locker rooms for the physicals. This is the same day as New Student & In-Person Registration. There will be an informational meeting for Middle School Cross Country on Tuesday, July 18th or Wednesday, July 19th near the Illini Central softball field at 6:30 pm. You only need to attend the one that fits your schedule best. Returning runners, new runners, and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend the meeting. Cross Country is open to any soon-to-be 5th through 8th graders. We will discuss the upcoming season, handout meet schedules, practice schedules before and after school starts, school physicals, athletic fees, and other important info. Illini Central Middle School students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grades are invited to participate in the 2023 Fall baseball season. You must be academically eligible based off of the spring semester grades. Middle School baseball practice will start on Thursday August 3rd from 10:00am-12:00pm at the school’s baseball field (if it rains we will be inside). Make sure you have an updated physical handed into the High school office or given to Coach Thomas that day, plus the $50 activity fee has also been paid, this must be completed in order to participate in practice. Proper baseball attire please: Hats, t-shirts(short or long sleeved) no cut offs, baseball pants and proper footwear for baseball activity. I am very excited for this upcoming season and look forward to teaching the game of baseball to our future baseball stars. Congratulations to Senior Clay Butler & Junior Lucas Power for being named All-Conference for this baseball season. Clay was named to the 2nd team in both the Sangamo & Tomahawk.
