This is a reminder that Illini Central Schools will dismiss at 11:30 am on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 for a School Improvement Planning Day.

This evening, the ICHS Scholastic Bowl team will make up their meet from last Thursday when they travel to Midwest Central. The meet is set to begin at 5 p.m. FYI...Regionals have been set for 3/7 in Williamsville @ 4:30 p.m. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

The Lady Cougars are back in action tonight as they play host to the Lady Raiders from Midwest Central. The 6th grade match will begin at 5 p.m. with the 7th & 8th grade to follow. Please note this change…the matches will be played in Mason City. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

The Krispy Kreme donut preorder pick-up date will be Wednesday, February 23rd from 5:30 to 7:30 in the cafeteria. This was postponed last week. Come by & pick up your order and stay for the boys' game. Thank you for your support!

The ICMS Volleyball teams are on the road tonight as they travel to Petersburg for their matches with the Lady Bluejays. The 6th grade match will begin at 5 p.m. with the 7th & 8th grade to follow. Also wanted to add that the girls’ matches v. Plains that were canceled last week (2/17) will not be made up. Wishing the Lady Cougars well this evening. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

It should be a big week in the ICHS Gym this week as we have games taking place from Tuesday-Friday. The ICMS Volleyball team will take the floor on Tuesday/Thursday, but we also have a unique opportunity on Wednesday/Friday. We will be hosting the IHSA Class 1A Boys Basketball Regionals and the semifinal games are set for Wednesday night. As an added bonus, the Cougars will be taking the floor at 6:00 on Wednesday. Illini Central will be taking on the #1 seed, the Augusta Southeastern Suns, on Wednesday night. With a win, the Cougars would advance to the title game on Friday night. This is a great opportunity to show up and cheer on the Cougars as they look to pull off a big upset. The theme for the night is "Blackout," and this theme isn't just for the Cougar Crazies. When our boys take the floor for the first time at 5:40, we are hoping for a packed gym full of fans wearing black. This community and this basketball program knows all about success in the postseason, and we are looking to bring that magic back this week. Congratulations to our own IC/Greenview Lady Cougar Basketball player Sophomore Madison Kacevicius for advancing to the next round of the IHSA 3 Point Shootout! Madison will shoot again this coming Thursday in Brimfield at 5:30 p.m. Congratulations, Madison!

As Hall of Fame Coach John Giesler would say…”It is Regional Time in Cougarville!” This afternoon, the Cougars play host to the South Fulton Rebels in the Quarterfinals of this IHSA Regional. Tip is scheduled for 4 p.m. As a reminder...the price for admission is $5 for everyone. No passes can be used for State Series events. The IHSA only allows schools that use the NFHS to broadcast State Series events. We made the decision a year ago to do our own thing through The Illini Central Sports Network YouTube Channel because we knew we could give you...our fans...a better product for free. Unfortunately, we will not be able to broadcast today's game live. Honestly, we would rather you be in the gymnasium with us anyway…cheering on your IC Cougars AND sticking around to honor our Seniors! Illini Central 8th Grader Brody Folkes was selected to participate in the All-State Junior High Classic this weekend. Today, Brody will compete in a couple of shooting events...the 3 point contest & a hotshot competition. He will practice with his All-Star team as well. Tomorrow, the All-Star games will take place at Dunlap Valley Middle School at 3 p.m. If Brody's team wins 3 p.m. game, they will play again at 4:30. The Championship game is scheduled for 5:30 for the two teams that are left at the end of the day. Let's reset...The Cougar Basketball game that was scheduled for last night...which we thought might get played tonight...has been cancelled. We were going to honor our Seniors in between the JV & Varsity game. Tomorrow...we will begin the IHSA Regional v. South Fulton. This game will begin at 4 p.m. in The Cougar Den. There are specific IHSA rules that have to be followed when hosting a Regional game. We will be honoring our Seniors following the Regional game. This will allow the Seniors & their families to take photos without being rushed prior to the game with the Rebels. We are excited to see a full gym tomorrow to cheer on the Cougars as the Regional begins AND we honor those Seniors who have worked hard over the past 4 years. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

The high school boys basketball game scheduled for tonight is canceled. We will honor our seniors tomorrow after the Regional game. That game begins at 4:00 pm. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight will be held at 7:00 pm at the Mason City Public Library.

Tonight’s extracurricular activities are canceled. The Board of Education meeting has been postponed until Friday, February 18, 2022 at 7:00 pm in the Mason City Public Library. The Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser for the senior class will be rescheduled at a future date

Due to tomorrow’s forecast of sleet, ice and heavy snow, Illini Central schools will be closed on Thursday, February 17, 2022. We will determine tomorrow if Thursday’s extracurricular activities and the Board of Education meeting will be canceled. This day will be made up at the end of the school year.
