Even though we miss him dearly…we know this monument to Coach Jimmy will allow future IC students & athletes from other schools to know about a person who changed so many lives. Come out & help us celebrate Jimmy in a way that he would love…cheering on the kids as they run Cross Country. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

The Jimmy Newell 5K Memorial Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, September 18. Anyone wanting to be guaranteed a T-Shirt must be registered by August 25. Funds from this race helped purchase new warmups for our MS Track and Field team, and will help create a scholarship in the future. Please consider coming out and honoring the memory of Jimmy Newell. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

Just a reminder that the Fall Sports Meeting will be held tonight at 5:30 PM in the HS Gym. There will be a quick 15-20 minute presentation and paperwork will be available that will need to be filled out and returned. Individual teams may be conducting a parent meeting AFTER the presentation. Please check with your coach for more information. Both athletes and parents/guardians are suggested to attend. If you cannot make it to the meeting, the presentation can be viewed online and paperwork will be given to the coaches. #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

Due to all of the rain over the last couple of days, our baseball and softball fields have taken on a lot of water. It has taken a lot of work to get these fields in good enough shape to get on them for practices. We ask that you please stay off of the wet fields, and please keep bicycles off of the diamonds at all time. Also as a reminder, please stay off of fields that have been lined for a game. The Fall Sports Meeting will be held on Monday, August 8 at 5:30 PM in the HS Gym. There will be a short 15-20 minute presentation before breaking off into individual team parent meetings, if a coach chooses. Paperwork will be available that night that will need to be signed and returned. Please plan on at least one parent/guardian attending with a student athlete. Good evening Cougars! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I wanted to remind everyone of 2 new seasons starting up tomorrow morning and a schedule change for softball. MS Cross Country practice will begin tomorrow from 8-9 am. Please meet in back of the school by the modular buildings. MS Baseball season also starts tomorrow with tryouts being held from 9-11. The tryouts will take place at the baseball field. Finally, MS softball practice will be from 9-11 this week as well in an effort to beat the heat. These tryouts will take place at the HS Baseball field and they are open to boys from both Greenview and IC that are entering 6th-8th grade. There will be no tryouts, but would still like to invite the opportunity for any student (5th-8th this fall) to join us. Runners will need to have an updated sports physical prior to practice.
