NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Board of Education of ILLINI CENTRAL CUSD 189, Mason City, Illinois will hold a public hearing at a regular school board meeting on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2022, at 7:00 pm at the Mason City Public Library, 820 W. Chestnut, Mason City, Illinois.
The purpose of said hearing will be to receive public comment on a proposed waiver application of the School Code Section 105 ILCS 5/10-20.12a, specifically, “To charge non-resident pupils who attend the schools of the district tuition in an amount not exceeding 110% of the per capita cost of maintaining the schools of the district for the preceding school year.” The district is seeking a waiver to allow children of full or part-time teachers, administrators, and support staff, not residing in the boundaries of the school district to attend ILLINI CENTRAL CUSD 189 tuition free as well as allow the District to set the non-resident pupil tuition rate lower than the per capita cost rate in the most recent audit. The waiver will allow children to attend the district at a lower tuition rate.
