Dear Illini Central Families,

I write to ask for your patience and understanding as our district navigates the latest changes to the COVID-19 guidance and rules for Illinois schools.

Last Friday, an Illinois judge ruled on a lawsuit filed by more than 700 parents across the state that challenged state-mandated COVID-19 mitigations. That decision applies only to those individuals who were involved in the lawsuit.  It is anticipated that the ruling will be appealed on Monday.  This issue will likely be decided within three weeks..  The district will respond accordingly to any appellate court decision.

Until then, we will continue to follow the policies and practices that have been in place throughout this school year. We ask for your patience as we review this decision and await further developments. Please keep in mind that we shortened weeks both this week and next.  It is possible that we will have a clear resolution by the end of that time.

Thank you for your continued support of our students, teachers, and staff. While it has been a difficult year, we will continue to push forward together.

Sincerely,

Mike Ward
