Return to In-Person Learning January 19, 2021

Illini Central students will return to in-person learning beginning Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

As we prepare for the return of students to campus, we have a few reminders and suggestions.

  • All students and staff are required to wear face masks while in the buildings or on the school bus.

  • All students will be screened prior to entering the building or boarding a school bus. Temperatures will be taken.  A list of symptoms will also be reviewed.  If your child has a temperature of 100.4 and above or has one of the listed symptoms, the student will not be allowed to remain at school.

  • If your student is not feeling well in the morning, it is recommended that you keep your student home.

  • If someone in your home has tested for Covid and awaiting a test result, we suggest that you keep your student at home.

  • If your student has to quarantine as a close contact, your student must stay at home.

  • The school day will run from 8:00am-1:30 for K-12 students.  Doors will open at 7:45 am.

  • During these colder months, we ask that you do not drop off students much earlier than 7:45.  In order to maintain social distancing, students will remain outside until 7:45.

  • Drinking fountains are not available for students. Students are allowed to bring a water bottle.

  • All K-12 students are reminded to charge Chromebooks on Monday night.

  • Tuesday, January 19 is a Gold day for HS/MS students.

  • The Pre-K program operating hours are 8:00-11:30.  Doors open at 7:45.

  • For Pre-K students, next week is a “Jelly” week.

  • For students who remain in remote learning and have opted for food service, meals can be picked up at Door K from 11:00-12:30 daily.

I think we all agree that having students at school is the best way to provide education to them. Illini Central remains committed to doing everything within our power to keep our students and staff healthy and safe.  Mason County Public Health data shows that Covid is still very prevalent in our communities.  We strongly encourage everyone to do their part to help us as we bring students back to in-person learning.

Our decision to remain with in-person learning will be based on the data we receive, the trends that we observe, and the ability to staff our buildings.  We will continue to adhere to CDC and IDPH guidelines.  We appreciate your patience, hard work and cooperation as we all work together.
