Alliance Community Bank of Mason City and Illini Central High School are pleased to present Sophia Montgomery with the December Student of the Month Award. Sophia receives an Amazon gift card from Alliance Community Bank and an Amazon gift card from the Illini Central High School faculty for demonstrating outstanding character.
Sophia is the daughter of Casey Shaffer and Brynt Montgomery.
Her classes this year include coding, AP Calculus, Advanced Chemistry II, American Government and Civics, Physics, Independent Study Spanish III, and Dual Credit English. Sophia is involved in several activities at ICHS. These include National Honor Society president, Student Council secretary, Mu Alpha Theta representative, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, and Spanish Club.
Sophia is also involved in the community. She is a part of 4-H and 4-H Federation.
Sophia plans to attend Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She will major in Chemistry.
