Reverse Career Fair

Last Wednesday, Illini Central High School held its Reverse Career Fair Day.

Every student that graduates from Illini Central must complete the Capstone Project, a series of activities and projects that help prepare students to be productive members of society.

The culminating event is the presentation by each student at the Reverse Career Fair. A reverse career fair flips the roles of a traditional job fair. Students present to other students, teachers, and community employers to demonstrate what they have accomplished in high school and what skills and experiences they have to offer future employers. A team of teachers and employers grades students.

Presentations must include specific aspects from their previous work in the Capstone project, including but not limited to their definition of success, career research, and resumes. Students are also encouraged to include other significant works and projects they are proud of from high school, such as artwork, shop projects, etc.

This career fair aims to provide an experience for students to market themselves and network with potential future employers.
