The IC Board of Education will hold a hearing meeting and regular meeting on Thursday, 9/22/22 at 7 pm at the MC Public Library. The meeting will be broadcast on Google Meet at meet.google.com/asx-pasu-rkk
LTEC STUDENTS AND FAMILIES: On Monday evening a threat of school violence was found written on an Lincoln Community High School restroom wall. The LCHS Behavioral Threat Assessment Team has been investigating the incident. At this time, they do not believe this is a credible threat; however, any and all threats are taken seriously. The Lincoln Police Department has been notified and will be providing more of a police presence. LCHS will continue to investigate this issue. Families wishing to keep their students home are to inform the school of their absence, absences will be considered excused.
There is no threat to Illini Central High School. At any time, anyone may report a potential threat or concern using the Say Something report on the Illini Central website under "Quick Links."
At ICHS, we require all of our students to participate in mock interviews prior to graduation. In years past, we have conducted these interviews in the students' senior year; however, recent graduates wished we would have done it earlier in their high school career. We are listening to their feedback and we are working on moving this opportunity to sophomore year, but we want to make sure that all of our juniors and seniors also get this experience.

The Illini Central Homecoming Sponsors will be selling Homecoming Shirts this year for the 2022 Homecoming that is themed Disney: Where Dreams Come True!
Students can wear these shirts during Homecoming week instead of doing a dress up day and still get points for their class.

Incoming Freshmen: Freshman orientation is tomorrow (Monday, 8/15/22) at 6:00 pm in the HS gym. You'll have an opportunity to check out your locker, walk your schedule, learn about expectations, and possibly win a prize!

On Tuesday, August 23rd at 4 p.m., Illini Central will be dedicating Jim Newell Track to honor our dearest coach & friend…Jimmy Newell.
Even though we miss him dearly…we know this monument to Coach Jimmy will allow future IC students & athletes from other schools to know about a person who changed so many lives.
Come out & help us celebrate Jimmy in a way that he would love…cheering on the kids as they run Cross Country.

Sunday, August 14th, 2022, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Kindergarten families are welcome to attend our Kindergarten Play Date, sponsored by the ICGS PTO! This event is to help students (and families) meet one another and familiarize themselves with the "big kid" playground. The PTO will also have popsicles! Please park in the west parking lot behind the school. Contact icgspto@illinicentral.org with any questions.
Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm: All ICGS families are welcome to attend the Illini Central Grade School Meet the Teacher Night. Homeroom teachers, Specials teachers, and other staff members will be in their classrooms, ready to meet students and parents alike. Feel free to bring your child's school supplies to school that evening in order to save them a heavier load on their first day on Wednesday.
This same evening we'll have the PTO with us to give you more information on their organization and encourage you to sign up. Families will also be able to sign up at this event for Parent Teacher Conference time slots for later in the Fall. If you have students in other buildings, please note the Pre-Kindergarten Meet the Teacher time is 5:00 pm-7:00 pm this evening and the MS/HS event runs from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Beginning tomorrow 8/3/22, seniors may begin purchasing parking passes in the office from 9-3. Juniors may begin on 8/10/22. Bring license, insurance and registration. (Building is closed 8/5/22)
Graduates from Illini Central may apply to help fund their college or technical school tuition by utilizing the Illini Central Student Loan Fund. The money made available to graduates from Illini Central High School through the Student Loan Fund is a loan. As such, the committee expects the applicant to make repayment of the money borrowed as soon after leaving school as is feasible. The prompt repayment of this loan will assure future students of Illini Central the same privilege to take advantage of this fund. There is a limit of $500.00 per semester with the total amount granted not to exceed $3000.00.
The Student Loan Fund committee will be meeting to approve student loans for the Fall 2022 semester. Students that are interested in acquiring a loan need to submit an application by August 12, 2022. Applications may be picked up in the high school office or on the school website at www.illinicentral.org under “For Students” on the high school page. Students must also submit a copy of their class schedule as proof of enrollment in college courses.
