Good morning Illini Central families! Here are some important dates regarding Back to School for the upcoming school year: July 20th: Online Registration Begins (If you have forgotten your Skyward password...you can call the school at 217-482-5180 ext. 1105) July 31st & Aug 1st: IC Pre-K Free Screening at 8 a.m. August 3rd: New Student and In-Person Registration from 2 to 7 p.m. in both offices (HS/MS & GS) August 7th: 6th Grade Orientation from 6 to 8 p.m. August 9th: Freshmen Orientation from 6 to 8 p.m. (This is different from the original date on the invitation) August 16th: Open House ICGS from 5 to 6 p.m. & ICMS/ICHS from 6 to 7 p.m. August 17th: 1st day of Student Attendance If you have any questions...please call the school at 217-482-5180 or email us at illinicentral@illinicentral.org #WeAreIC #BeJimmy

Free Children's Books! Illini Central has a number of children's books that we would like to find good homes as we begin shuffling spaces prior to the start of our new building project. The school will be open on Wednesday, June 21st from 3:00-4:30 and again from 6:00-7:00. Please enter through Door A (the HS front door) during those times if you are interested. The IC Board of Education will hold its May meeting Thursday, May 18 at 7 pm at the Mason City Public Library. The Google Meet link is meet.google.com/niv-qtkm-oqd

IC schools have lifted the soft lockdown. Pre-K transportation will resume, but may be a few minutes late. All other school activity has resumed as normal.

The morning Pre-K dismisses at 10:30. Bus service will be delayed until the soft lockdown is lifted. We will notify parents via text when this occurs.

Illini Central schools are currently in a soft lockdown. There is not a threat to the school, students or staff. This is at the request of the Mason City Police Department in response to actions they are performing in the community.

Reminder: IC schools will dismiss Wednesday, April 26 at 11:30 am for school improvement planning activities.

Starting tomorrow, we will begin State testing in the GS & MS. The testing will be done on the student Chromebooks. We ask that all students & families try their best to make sure devices are charged each night and brought to school each day. The Literacy & Leadership class at Illini Central High School has been working to raise funds to bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to District 189. Due to the impending weather...tonight's performance of The Trail to Oregon has been postponed to Sunday, April 2nd. Show time on Sunday will be 2 p.m. with the doors opening at 1:30 p.m. All pre-ordered tickets for tonight (Friday) are valid for any remaining performance.

Today’s weather forecast calls for potentially dangerous storms forming in the mid afternoon. As a result, Illini Central schools will dismiss classes today at 1:15 pm. There will be no afternoon Pre-K program. Tonight’s activities are also canceled.

It is that time of year again! Mark your calendars for Kindergarten Night in April. If you have a student who will be 5 on or before September 1st of 2023 you have a Kindergarten eligible student. Find out what you need to do to get them registered, meet their teachers, and learn a little bit more about what to expect for next year.
