Yesterday morning, the IESA announced that middle school volleyball could begin both a practice and game schedule. Our coaches began a sign up process yesterday to determine how many students we can expect to play. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused.
For 7th and 8th grade girls, volleyball practice will begin Friday, January 22 at 1:30 in the high school gym. Practice will end at 3:30. Due to the number of students who have expressed interest, we do not need to have tryouts.
There will be no practice on Saturday, January 23. There will be practice on Monday, January 25 at 1:30 in the high school gym. Athletes will receive more information and a schedule update at tomorrow’s practice.
There will be a shuttle bus leaving at 3:45 pm. The bus will drop off at the Easton Post Office at approximately 4:00 pm. The bus will then drop off at the San Jose Casey’s at approximately 4:20.
There has been no decision regarding a 6th grade season. We are still collecting information from neighboring schools to determine how many will or will not offer 6th grade volleyball. The Board of Education will discuss the issue at tonight’s 7:00 pm meeting.
The IESA also announced that middle school boys basketball can begin practices but no games. There is a sign up sheet for students who are interested. We will release more information once that process is completed.
We are still awaiting guidance from the IHSA regarding high school basketball and volleyball. We anticipate having more information early next week.
