Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians:

While this school year has not been what anyone would wish for, I hope each of you can find gratitude and something you are thankful for this holiday season.

I am personally thankful for the support that we have received during this challenging and frustrating time.  I am thankful for our teachers and paraprofessionals who have adapted to the situation and continue to show their care and concern for students.  I am grateful for our food services staff, bus drivers, custodians, and secretaries for continuing to do their best to serve our students.  I am most grateful for our families who have worked to overcome the obstacles and support their children.  Finally, I am thankful to our students who have borne this burden with tremendous energy, patience, and positive attitudes.

Since we began meeting in the summer to plan this school year, I have emphasized that we must find the best solution that fits our circumstances.  While we have had to re-think some of our approaches, I believe that we have done the best we can to provide the education and support services that are a necessity.  As we continue through this year, we will continue to re-evaluate our approach, and we will continue to to search for what works best.  I ask for your continued patience and support as we do so.

We will also continue to work together to make this year the best that it can be.  I am confident that students will learn and grow, and we will all come out of this with a sense of what is important and will be grateful for all that we have been given.

I hope that you all have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Mike Ward
