The 1st State Bank of Mason City and Illini Central High School are pleased to present Gracelyn Roat with the February Student of the Month Award. For demonstrating outstanding character, Gracelyn receives a Barnes & Noble gift card from 1st State Bank and an Amazon gift card from Illini Central High School faculty.
Gracelyn is the daughter of Michael and Melissa Roat.
Her classes this year include Dual Credit Composition 101 and 102, Government and Civics, P.E. Games, Chorus, Human Anatomy, Resource Management, and Band.
In addition, Gracelyn is involved with several extra-curricular activities. She is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Science Club, Pep Band, and the school’s musicals and plays. She is a media officer for Interact Club, as well.
Gracelyn volunteers in the community in a variety of ways. She is a Pre-K-1st grade Sunday school teacher, a worship team member, and youth leader of her youth group at Havana Church of the Nazarene.
Gracelyn plans to attend Olivet Nazarene University, where she will major in Early Childhood Education.
