As part of their final exam, Mr. Stevenson's Image Editing class had to take a black and white photo obtained from the families of the residents at Mason City Area Nursing Home and re-colorize it. Using details provided, the students transformed the images into color prints. Mr. Stevenson's Woodworking students then crafted frames for each of the pictures.
Instead of taking a written exam, Mr. Stevenson and his students visited the residents and presented them with the framed picture. It was a touching moment as students learned more about the photos they have been working with over the last few weeks and witnessed the joy in the residents' eyes as they relived a beloved memory. This is a project we hope to continue with the students each semester.
