1st State Bank of Mason City and Illini Central High School are pleased to present Kyndel Arthalony with the September Student of the Month Award. For demonstrating outstanding character, Kyndel receives a Barnes & Noble gift card from 1st State Bank and an Amazon gift card from the Illini Central High School faculty.
Kyndel is the daughter of Jason and Teresa Harrison and Brent and Teila Arthalony.
Her classes this year include American Government and Leadership, Advanced Chemistry, AP Calculus, Physics, Advanced Spanish IV, Dual Credit Composition 110 and 111, and Resource Management.
Kyndel keeps busy with a number of extra-curricular activities, as well. She is vice president of Student Council, National Honor Society, and Spanish Club; and she is chapter secretary of FFA. Kyndel is also a member of both the volleyball and basketball teams at ICHS.
Kyndel volunteers in a variety of ways. She helps with Little Cougar Basketball Camp, Little Cougar Volleyball Camp, Camp Ag with FFA, and the Manna Project. In addition, she is a student-mentor for underclassmen at the high school.
Kyndel will attend Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, where she will major in Pharmacy. She plans to become a clinical pharmacist, specializing in oncology.
