As principal of ICHS, I am proud of the hard work and dedication our staff and students have shown this past year as we continue to strive to improve academic achievement. We are working to have all students “ACHIEVE YOUR POTENTIAL.” We operate on a seven period day with 53 minute class periods – this length of time is up 8 minutes from last year. All students currently share the same 30 minute lunch period. We have also begun an alternative schedule day every Wednesday. The first Wednesday of the month operates as an activity period day while the other days of the month serve as Focus Learning Group days. In Focus Learning Groups, we work on test preparation and the instruction of various strategies to help students learn. Seniors who meet or exceed on their PSAE or undergo satisfactory performance in remediation first semester may be exempt from this program. We are hopeful that students will continue to grow and learn while students at Illini Central and beyond as we develop lifelong learners. Go Cougars!
