Bus Shuttles End on January 31st, 2012
Dear Illini Central Families:
We are writing this letter to inform you that beginning on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, the Illini Central School District #189 will no longer be providing shuttle bus transportation. This decision was made by the board of education as a means to reduce costs given the current financial situation of transportation funding by the state of Illinois. As per the board’s decision, shuttle bus usage will end on January 31, 2012.
As of this date, students will no longer have transportation available to return students to the communities of Easton and San Jose. Students who participate in after school activities, after school study hall, or who have assigned after school detentions must be picked up at the school after their activities commence. Middle school students who practice in Easton will still have transportation provided to practice, but must be picked up at Easton when their activity is finished.
The school will work to communicate ahead of time with parents when transportation is needed for a student. Likewise, parents will need to communicate with the school when a student is unable to stay because of transportation issues.
