The 2012 Mason County Spelling Tournament was held at the Arlee Theater last week. There were nine Illini Central spellers involved. Those include 6th graders Grace Nystrom, Jade Fangmeier, and Jacob Thomas. 7th graders include Madison McMorris, Sabrina Kelsey, and David (Jacob) Martin. 8th graders were Rylee Barber, Meaghan Boyd, and Sarah Morgan. The overall winner was Jacob Martin and Madison McMorris was the first runner up. Jacob will represent Illini Central in the Peoria Journal Star Spelling Bee in the March.
