IC#189 seeking CAndidate to Fill Board Vacancy
The Board of Education of Illini Central CUSD #189 is accepting applications from school district residents who are interested in applying for a vacancy on the Board. The Board intends to appoint a qualified candidate to fill the vacancy under a term of office that expires in April, 2019. The Board has until October 5, 2017 to fill the vacant seat.
The vacancy was created with the resignation of John Gielser. Mr. Giesler’s resignation was accepted at the August 22nd Board meeting and became effective August 23rd.
To be eligible for consideration, a person must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen, a registered voter, and a resident of District #189 for at least one year prior to appointment.
Any eligible candidate who is interested in being considered for the position must submit a letter of interest detailing the individual’s qualifications and motivation to serve on the Board. A resume is also desired. All information must be hand delivered to the Illini Central CUSD #189 District Office no later than Friday, September 15th, 2017 at 4:00 pm. The District Office is located at 208 North West Avenue, Mason City, Illinois. District Office hours are 8:00 am-4:00 pm.

IC #189 Board Meeting Schedule Revisions
The Illini Central School district will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on Thursday, September 21st, 2017. The meeting will be held at the Grade School Library at 7:00 pm.
The Illini Central School District will hold a special Board of Education meeting to hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 for the purpose of receiving testimony on the District’s Operating Budget for the 2017-2018 school year. The hearing will be convened at 5:30 p.m. in the Illini Central Grade School Library in Mason City. The Budget shall be on display and available for public view beginning August 22nd in the Superintendent’s office located at 208 N. West Ave. in Mason City, IL.
In addition to the public hearing, the Board will seat a new member at the September 27, 2017 special meeting.
